Gunmen attack Yobe State University after Invading Damaturu this morning

According to reports, suspected Boko Haram insurgents invaded the state capital Damaturu,shooting anybody on sight...They then stormed Yobe State University after burning down the Mobile Police base on the outskirts of the town.

We have left our homes. We are now in the bush. We don’t know what’s going to happen,”  Umar Sada, who said a police barracks had been destroyed told BBC Hausa morning service..

The explosions and gunfire started as early as 6am ..Residents, students have been fleeing for safety.
